I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad, Wally, which I remember with a loving smile and such a quietly spoken voice. plus together I have some loving memories of your Dad and Mum together with all their well behaved kids. Thinking of you All. Jeanette Tucker
Wally was my regular mate on the Big Wheel at Wodonga for about 2 1/2 years in the early 80s. I don’t think I’ve ever met a kinder, gentler man than Wal. I don’t think I ever saw him get angry and I don’t recall him ever having a bad word about anyone. In many ways I wish he had been my dad. Long days and nights on the steel rails between Albury and Melbourne and the normal problems that go with running trains and always Wally was calm and safe, a great bloke to be on the loco with. I still drive trains and every shift, Wally is still with me, looking over me. I’ll never forget you Wal, you were the best mate a bloke could ever ask for. Top greens forever now Wal.
