I remember Maria from school days, she was a really nice person who you could talk to sensibly and who never had a bad word for anyone, the world is poorer for her passing
A delight to be around… Maria had the ability to include everyone at school! A popular girl with a great laugh and love of life.
So sad …. i hope there is a rainbow bridge for Maria she deserves a bright new beginning xxx
Sve vas grlim, Sanja i Mate
“The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.” The opening line of L.P. Hartley’s novel The Go-Between was one of Marija’s favourite lines and books. It highlights the idea that the past is fundamentally different from the present, and that attempting to understand or judge it by contemporary standards is a mistake.
I spent seven wonderful years with Marija. Although it didn’t last, my feelings for her never stopped. She was loving, articulate, thoughtful, loved her books, music and family, and dare I say, her wine and cigarettes. Life is for living, and she has left an indelible mark on my memory.
Dok se ponovno ne sretnemo, želim ti sreću na nekom boljem mjestu.
I recall very many fond memories of growing up with you, Marija ….since Year 1 at Wodonga Primary & then throughout Wodonga Secondary/High School in ….and then again briefly at La Trobe Uni in Melb…..and then of course catching up with you In Wodonga post-Uni over the years up as adults, to see many New Years’ Eves in (after I moved permanently to WA)!! 🥂 🍾
I knew the last ten years had been particularly challenging for you, Marija, but what I do admire was your unwavering compassion & loyalty for looking after your family. I wish you absolute peace now, my childhood Pal – I hope you will find eternal peace being laid to rest with your parents who I know adored you and you, as they did you. I wish I could have been able to return to Wodonga to say goodbye, my ole friend – For now, Farewell! 😘
