Sorry can not be there with you today due to family obligations Steve and family
I’m so saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. He was a stalwart of Amateur radio in the north east of Victoria and will be remembered and missed by many. I first met Ron in the mid 1990’s. I mostly recall his respectful approach and considered opinions which he shared with grace and not inconsiderable humour at times. He would always call a spade a spade and was an asset at any get together. The last time we caught up was at Tangambalanga September 2013. In my mind’s eye I can still see him supervising Brenton at the BBQ.. My condolences to his family. Vale Ron.
The one and only true gentleman of the airwaves. Rest In Peace old mate.
Although we have never ever met, all fellow amateur radio station operators are considered “Family”.
Vale Ron

Certainly wasn’t alone, made absolutely sure of that, and got the Nurse to go get Kath.
Ol mate left an indelible mark on so many life’s without a doubt.
Hi Kevin,Thank you so much for being there with Ron @ Kath …If you would like to like by email at any time I would love to here from you .Eilene.
Sorry I am unable to be there I have medical specialist appointments in Albury that day which I have waited 13 months for!
I honestly cannot say how long I knew Ron……it seems like forever. I can say, however that he was one of Amateur Radio’s true gentlemen and provided so many with such humanity and class. His 7100 net was legendary and an enormous commitment to his fellow Amateurs and to the hobby at large. No nets thrive such as his without a focal point …a character, if you will, and Ron was all of that and more. I doubt there will ever be another contribution (or net) on Aussie Amateur Radio in my lifetime, now that there’s no longer an AHRA at the helm. I hope that his club takes over his callsign as a club call to preserve his amazing legacy.
Condolences to Kath and to all close to him. Their almost everlasting marriage was testament to their love and commitment to each other.
I will, unfortunately, be “on the road”, so I cannot attend on the day, but rest assured that I will be visiting my respect upon VK3AHR in my own way.
Vale Ronnie.
Sorry I can’t be there.
Going to miss you uncle Ron, movie man.
The world will be a sadder place without you.
Ron,You are sadly missed by a big amateur family . Vale Roni..Forever the gentleman on radio . Condolences to Cath also …
Thanks for the AHR net throughout Covid Ron.
Looking out for our welfare.
Your moral compass guided us through.
Those following on in your footsteps should heed the example you set for us.
Your daily priorities putting us first then Kath
You could have spent more time on your own welfare mate.
Maybe then we would have had you around a little longer.
RIP AR SK VK3OT
Ron , you’ve been a great companion on radio and in person when I saw you at the Ballarat ham fest years ago, you where a person that inspired me to get on the radio earlier than the net started just to speak to you one on one, you never got angry , and you gave me a sense of worth to come and speak to you and be on your net every day, one thing I could rely on was you would be there at 10am every day of the year, god bless you Ron .
Ron you have been a great inspiration to me throught the eighteen years I’ve known you, you where there evey day of the year, I use to be on early just to chat to you one on one , I enjoyed every chat we ever had, God bless you Ron .
Thank you Ron for everything that you did for Amateur Radio – your net on 7.100 is legendary and your voice will be sadly missed. RIP mate.
Ron VK3AHR was a good friend and ambasador for amateur radio. He operated for a time as a net controller of the Coral Coast Net with Peter VK4MIT , and as a member of the group while running other radio nets. . It was good to hesr his voice bouncing in off the ionisphere and that now will be sadly missed. I hope Ron VK3AHR SK rests in pezce and my sympathies go out to Kath from all the Coral Coast Group members and myself.. Ron left, owing me acouple of Murray Crays to be sent up by post.. .. so if anyone spots them, and can get them gere it would be appreciated.
Unfortunately I can’t attend the funeral.If I could I would.
Vale RonVK3AHR SK.
All the best
