Good bye Peter. What a lovely man you are.
Dear Peter
Thank you for the warmth, kindness, and joy you brought during the times we spent together. Though we didn’t live close by, the moments shared during those visits meant so much to the me and the kids. You always made us feel welcome and we all loved spending time with you and Jan.
You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Love Renee, Ethan and Madison xo
Peter was our family doctor from 1972 until he retired. He delivered our daughters in 1972 and 1973 and was the most attentive and considerate doctor. Thank you Dr. Francis.
Dear Jan and family
Across the years, Peter was a special person in our family’s lives. We met him on one of his early visits to Uncle Allan and Auntie Joyce Hargreaves’ family farm before Jan and Peter were married. Since then, his presence has variously punctuated our lives. The Peter we knew was steadfast, proud of his family and their achievements, and took an interest in others’ lives.
Mum, Auntie Al, and Dad, Uncle Skeet, enjoyed his company, his care, support and concern, my sister Carol, also found him a strong support. Ross, my husband, and I enjoyed catching up with Peter and Jan whenever circumstances allowed or our paths crossed.
One of the key things that Ross and I greatly appreciated was Peter’s professional contribution and commitment to the development of rural, regional health care in the Wodonga region and his encouragement and instillation of similar commitments in trainee doctors. In Mount Beauty, where we live, we continue to reap the benefits of such care.
As you celebrate Peter’s life today, a very full life, hold on to your memories and keep him close in your hearts.
With much love to you all: Jan, Jacqui and Sally and your families
Our sincere condolences

Dr. Peter,
What a generous, special man you were.
You were our family doctor from 1972 until you’re retirement. You delivered our children and provided our family with the most attentive and empathetic care.
Our thoughts and love are extended to your beautiful family.
Hey Peter,
Thank you for everything you have done for me over the many years.
Your guidance, care and help has been exceptional, and without fail.
It was a pleasure to walk by your side for the time we had together.
I know for all the good that you have done that God is waiting with open arms to receive you.
May you forever rest in peace.
Your memory will always be close to my heart and you will be sorely missed.
You will never be forgotten, and your wonderful memories will live forever.
Kindest Regards,
Paul Palhares
I first met Peter when we were in Brighton Athletics Club, Melbourne. Peter was a schoolboy champion sprinter.
At one point, he was the medical appointment at a boys camp in Portsea. He invited me for the weekend and we ended up at the local dance on Saturday night. There I met my future wife, Vanessa and Peter was my groomsman at our wedding in Myrtleford, 55 years ago.
I owe him a lot: a good friend.
